In the long term, stock prices follow earnings. There are no exceptions.

Buying a stock is buying a business, and buying a business is buying the discounted value of its future cash flows.
Pay special attention to companies that consistently spend a higher percentage of revenue on R&D than the industry average. R&D is not a cost — it's an upfront investment in the future moat.
A truly great business must have an enduring 'moat' that protects excellent returns on invested capital.
Investing is not about buying good things, but about buying things well. Even the best company is a bad investment at the wrong price.
